Mirebalais Haiti Solar-Powered University Hospital Now Open
On May 24 2013, Partners in Health posted on their website that the University Hospital in Mirebalais, Haiti, had already reached 4,239 registered patients as of May 3rd.
The solar-powered Hôpital Universitaire de Mirebalais (HUM) in Haiti has officially opened its doors providing HIV/AIDS and tuberculosis care to it patients, along with treatment for noncommunicable diseases, primary care, prenatal care and dental care, among other services, according to caribjournal.com
HUM is a 300-bed hospital with 30 outpatient consulting rooms and six operating suites, with the capability of serving 500 patients every day.
