In response to Gabriel Leroy Haitian Artist, I have learned some things about Gabriel Leroy! He was born in 1913 in Jacmel and died in 1982. He began painting in the 1930's and in the mid 1970's painted the beautiful frescoes in the church of St Jacques et St Philippe in Jacmel.

Unfortunately the earthquake damaged the cathedral and his paintings have been destroyed.

If anyone can find pictures of the frescoes please let me know. You can see some of his art at url removed
