A follow-up on Gabrielle Union isn't of Haitian descent, please stop, If both parents are of Haitian descent then that would make her Haitian American.
Regardless of the number of generations removed, one could never lose all of the traits of their country of origin entirely.
Haitian descent means ones family is from Haiti.
Therefore, she is not African American like those who were born of black slaves in the U.S. If she was adopted by African Americans, there would be a significant cultural difference.
