Abner Louima's Torturer Wants to Get Out of Jail Early.

Justin Volpe, the former NYPD officer who assaulted Abner Louima in 1997 with a broomstick inside a precinct bathroom, wants to have his sentenced reduced.
President Bush has granted more than 200 pardons during his term in office.
The Justice Department on Monday confirmed that Volpe has submitted a petition for commutation of sentence to the Office of the Pardon Attorney and it is under consideration.
