Dear Woodring,
My name is Jessica and I'm a 21 year Haitian American who yerns for answers about my heritage greatly.

Both my parents were born in Haiti and left when they were in their early 20's. They told me everything about Haiti and their childhood, however it's not the same. I want to actually go there and experience the greatness of the country.

Yes I have not step foot in Haiti because of the fear of my parents had growing up. Now that I am old enough to go on my own I'm a little scared.

The strange thing is that I was born in the United States, but I don't feel like it's my home. I want to live and enjoy the life in Haiti because I am proud to be Haitian.

I wish so bad that change can happen so I and my future family can live a life feld with peace and joy.
