Does traveling to the Dominican Republic Increase your chances of getting a US Visa?

As another person said, "the USA Visa system works independently of any outside influence".

However, it might increase your chances if you are trying to ingratiate yourself with an American consul by proving that you did not overstayed your tourist/guest worker visa, did not commit any crime in a foreign country, did not became an economic burden on your host country, etc. By being a hard-working, law-abiding citizen in the DR you can set a good precedent that can be advantageous when applying for a US visa.
