NY State Senator David Carlucci said over 5000 Haitians in his district under temporary protected status,working, paying taxes, contributing to the economy in Rockland County New York will have to be sent back to Haiti because Trump wants to end TPS in July 2017.

Many Haitians nationals have had Temporary protected status (TPS) in the United States since 1990. With TPS, Haitians are allowed to live and work in the United States fo a limited time.

What is Temporary Protected Status?

Temporary protected status (best known by Haitians as "TPS") is a temporary status given to eligible nationals of designated countries who are present in the United States.
