This thing is just starting ...

the death toll may rise to 50,000 or several hundred thousand.

Between infection (consuming the food or water that causes it) and showing first symptoms, takes several days. Then after first symptoms, the victim can be dead in anywhere from 1 hour to 2 days.

Hospitals where it started are overwhelmed, so sick people are going to other cities hospitals, while people who are not yet showing the symptoms are fleeing all over Haiti, where they will infect other people, and soon the whole nation will have it.

It is probably too late now to prevent the entire nation of Haiti from getting infected with Cholera.

Approx 10% of the people who get it will die. People of O blood type, who are malnutrition-ed because of the state-of-art of earthquake disaster relief, and with poor sanitation services, are most at risk.
