In order for Haiti to move forward, Duvalier must die. Duvalier is not dead yet. His ideology and doctrine are still alive and are being practiced.

We must make a conscious effort to eradicate the duvalierist-tontonmacoutist mentality.

It served its purpose for the last 53 years (1957-2010).

It is about time that we bury Duvalier and his regime so that we can move on with fresh ideas and methods.However, a doctrine of 53 years old and a population of 65% under 20 years of age will not be an easy task. The Duvalierist mentality has permeated every aspect of our country and of our culture.

A systemic and gradual de-duvalierism should be in action in order for us to truly move forward.
