Barbados based One Caribbean Media (OCM) network and the Nation Publishing Company raised Bdos $1, 165, 164 (US$538,000) for the Haiti relief effort in a January Radiothon.

A cheque covering this amount was presented on Thursday March 25 to former Trinidad diplomat and United Nations adviser on Haiti, Reginald Dumas and is to be used for funding of projects in the earthquake-devastated country.

Dumas, a former Trinidad and Tobago High Commissioner to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, said the projects to be bankrolled were still to be determined but shelter, scholarships, hospitals and schools were listed among priorities of Haitians in the aftermath of the January earthquake, which destroyed most of Haiti
