21-year veteran Haitian Police officer commits suicide

Croix-des-Bouquets Haiti - After 21 years of service to the Haitian National Police force, Officer Lorenso Loyer decided to end his life in police uniforms with a bullet in the head Tuesday, April 16 2019.

Why would a policeman who has been carrying a firearm for so many years suddenly decide to use it on himself?

According to news reports, Officer Lorenso left a memo on which he wrote: "my wife (phone number), it's over". He also deposited his wedding ring on this memo, then he ended his life.

Lorenso Loyer joined the Haitian National Police force back in 1998, he was an Agent IV assigned to the National Penitentiary Administration (APENA) in the civil prison of Croix-des-Bouquets.
