How can you save money when what you earn is not even enough for your daily expenses?

So you think saving money is impossible because the money you earn is not even enough for your daily expenses. There is one important question you have to ask yourself first though before you tell yourself this big lie.

How much of what you purchase everyday is a desire but not a necessity?

As humans of the modern age, we wake up everyday and purchase so many things we can live without.

You have a big house, big fridge, pantry, walk-in closet, you gotta fill them up!

Opps! Don't need that anymore. Put it in storage!

Here is something I learned form a book I read a long time ago:

What we want and need everyday, all the things we think are necessary, they increase the more money we make.

Add that to the fact that, nowadays, you can buy now and pay later. Hey, it's only an extra $19.99 a month for two years. You can afford it, right?

Can you understand why you will always be broke unless you tell yourself that's not the life you want?

I made a decision some years ago to keep my life simple. I call my lifestyle "the least common denominator". Remember that this means in mathematics?

I have everything I need everyday to function and I am no longer in search of the latest and greatest, only things that serves a purpose for my daily simple living.

Even the food I eat, I try to stick to simple plant-based foods that is good for my health. I don't fill my house with 6 varieties of cereals and every sugar treat I can lay my eyes on. Out of sight, out of mind.

Tip: You can buy an older version smartphone unlocked for less than $100.00 and use it for all your calling and communication needs (the least common denominator). So why do you run and buy the latest iPhone? To make phone calls? I doubt it.

As soon as you do away with the habit of running around buying things you don't really need, you will quickly realize that you earn more money than you think and that some of it can actually be put away for a rainy day.

The problem is, refraining yourself from spending it all can be depressing unless you mentally prepare yourself for that lifestyle.

You will not be young for the rest your life.

You will not have the energy you have now in order to work hard for a living for the rest your life.

Put some money away and invest for the long term for the days that youth and strength are gone.

One less dress, one less night out, one more year with the car that is already paid off, one more year with the smartphone you already have, that's the best way to start.
