According the report, the socio-economic situation in Haiti is not that different than countries facing armed conflicts in Africa or the Middle East. Haiti ties with Afghanistan in low human development.

WOW!!!

Out of 189 countries, Norway, Switzerland, Australia, Ireland and Germany lead the way while Haiti, ranked 168 out of 189, is at the bottom of the pile with a long list of African Countries like Niger, the Central African Republic, South Sudan, Chad and Burundi.

Our neighbor, The Dominican Republic, which shares the same island with us, is ranked a 94 near the other Caribbean nations like Saint Lucia, Jamaica Suriname and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.

Haiti is the only country in the Caribbean at the bottom of the list. 168 out of 189.

According to the report, a Dominican in the Dominican Republic is expected to live 74 years while a Haitian in Haiti is expected to live only 63.6 years.

In the report, countries are ranked by Human Development Index (HDI), Life expectancy at birth, Expected years of schooling, Mean years of schooling, Gross national income (GNI) per capita, GNI per capita rank minus HDI rank

It almost seems like we are the only country in the Caribbean with absolutely NO plan to get out of the sh--t hole we are in while the bulk of the National budget is going towards paying state employees who are obviously NOT working to make Haiti better a better place.
