Haitian Politics- Do we know what we want?

"There aren't any great men. there are just great challenges that ordinary men like you and me are forced by cicumstances to meet" -- Adm. William F. Halsey

Haiti Elections 2011

Politics is not something that I wish to involve myself in. Especially Haitian Politics...

But because of what is happening in Haiti right now, I feel like you are expecting me to say some thing about it.

Read this the tell me if it somehow relates to Haiti

When the Israelites were being chased by Pharaoh's army, They made it sound like it was Moses' fault that they had been delivered from Egypt, yet...

  • Who had cried unto the Lord?
  • Who had asked for help?
  • Who wanted deliverance?
  • Who was glad and delighted when Moses showed up with Aaron and did the great miracles?

Without weapons they left Egypt and they left loaded with jewels and gold.

After all they had witnessed, they still could not believe that God would deliver them out of the hand of Pharaoh's army.

They forgot why they cried out originally -- they were so afraid.

Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians?
For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians,
than that we should die in the wilderness
-- Exodus 14:12

What had God told them?

He told them that he was going to...

  • Deliver them from the burdens of the Egyptians
  • Rid them out their bondage
  • Redeem them with a stretched out arm and with great judgments
  • Take them as His people
  • Be their God

And they were to live in Canaan; the land that was promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

They couldn't take God at His Word.

When adversity struck
they always want to be where they were before.

They had been so oppressed and had no time to worship God; they were brain washed.

They failed to consider that

  • the Egyptians had killed their children
  • made them make bricks without straw and
  • oppressed them to a hand-to-mouth survival existence so there was no time for God, no time to meditate on His Word.

God needed them out of Egypt into a land of milk and honey so they would be able to live His Word.

OK!

I didn't write this, I took it right out of a web page on the internet. If I found it, there must be a reason for that

I am not a preacher, I don't even go to church but there is one thing I know for a fact...

The same thing that is happening today has happened before and it seems to me that it is because we are trying so hard not to let the past repeat itself that we loose focus on the future

My Haitian People, It is the future that we should worry about

What ever you do from now on, make sure you ask yourself these questions:

  • Do you have a Plan "B"?
  • Is it better than Plan "A"?
  • Will your Plan "B" benefit or destroy us as a nation and that beloved land we all call "Hispaniola"?

Wow, I just happened to come across thus sight and had no idea the issues your people must face. I live in Canada and have to say that these situations and daily struggles are largely unreported in our media.

It is truly a shame that all humans are not treated equally.

I just wanted to say that I love you and send my most heartfelt human compassion and empathy for the trials and pains of each of you. I wish if for only ever one wish in this whole wide world to be allowed ever that all of human kind would follow but one law, THE GOLDEN RULE. To treat each individual ONLY as you yourself would like to be treated, and LOVE your neighbors as you would your brother.

Wow, outstanding article!

I can apply that same that same counsel to African Americans.

A lot of us are so afraid of facing the unknown that we'll put up with all kinds of burocracy to continue to get handouts that only keep us poor and weighed down by low self esteem.

Again, very good article!
