It doesn't matter how long you've been living in Haiti. As soon as you leave the country and you grab another citizenship, Haitians in Haiti look at you as though you are no longer Haitian.

Haiti lacks many professionals because many left the country in search of a better life on foreign land. As soon as this Haitian professional becomes a citizen of another country he is what Haitians call a "cadavre gaté".

Don't even try running for office to become a Depute or Senator, or worse, president.

When will the time come when a Haitian can be Haitian in his native country no matter how many other nationality he has.

It's simple, if you have a Haitian passport and you are in Haiti, you are Haitian in all sense of the words. That's how it should be, That's how it has to be.
