The Grand Sud regions of Haiti were severely impacted by a 7.2 magnitude earthquake on August 14, 2021.

Tragically, over 2,200 lives were lost, and nearly 13,000 individuals sustained injuries.

The disaster resulted in the collapse of numerous buildings, including around 130,000 homes, and caused significant damage to various infrastructures.

Look at this photo... Soldiers from the new Haitian Army Corps of Engineers are working very hard to clear the rubble from the homes destroyed by the 5.9 magnitude earthquake hit the city of Port-de-Paix Haiti on October 6 2018.

This time help did not come in the form of foreign soldiers. Haiti had her own army with expert engineers to help out in times of disaster.
