I was not trying to compare Charlemagne Peralte to Jean Jaques Dessalines.

I was merely trying to point out that I have heard people compare him to Dessalines (which means he is a big a hero as Dessalines).

I am not a big enough historian to make such a comparison

The point of the article was the fact that our fallen hero (Charlemagne Peralte) was considered a "Bandit" and his murderers were awarded a "medal of Honor".

I hope I cleared it out for you.
