Why call it "GOOD Friday" when it is the day Jesus died on the Cross?

Don't you find it interesting that the dark and bleak event commemorating a day of suffering and death of Jesus Christ is called Good Friday?

Good Friday : Vendredi Saint in Haiti

I was reading this article, it says in Germany the day is called Karfreitag, or "Sorrowful Friday."

At least in Haiti, we call it "Vendredi Saint" and not "Bon Vendredi"... LOL...

I mean it was a pretty dark day for Jesus. The article says: In the same way, Good Friday is "good" because as terrible as that day was, it had to happen for us to receive the joy of Easter.

What do you think about it? Are you comfortable with the day being called Good Friday?

F Etienne Jesus did not die on a Friday... A day has twenty four hours, from Friday to Sunday it is not three days and three nights.
