Five Haitian police officers fired after setting fire at Champs de Mars carnival stands
On tuesday, February 18, 2020, officer Yanick Joseph, coordinator of a police union not authorized by the high command of the police institution, was dismissed Acting Director General of the National Police of Haiti (PNH), Normil Rameau.
Yanick Joseph is not the only one to be hit by this sanction. 4 other of his comrades are also expelled from the police institution.
They are: Abelson Gros Nègre (agent 2), Jean Elder Lundi (Police Inspector), Gédéon Monbrun (agent 2) and Yens Lamarre (agent 1).
They are dismissed on the grounds of "undermining the honor of the Police, Revolt and sedition", vant bef info reported.
Imagine that, Haitian police men and women who are supposed to protect and serve and suddenly they are setting fire to public places during their own protests.
