Help the Philippines But NOT LIKE HAITI... Interesting...

Many people are saying let's help the Philippines but not like we helped Haiti since the aftermath of Typhoon Haiyan - coincidently named... Clearly there were many mistakes made in all the HELP Haiti received after the January 2010 earthquake...,

Survivors of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines

Now I wonder why would people say that: Help the Philippines But NOT LIKE HAITI.

After all, the word is Haiti received billions in aid after the earthquake, so what is so wrong with helping the Philippines the same way that Haiti was helped?

WHY? Read this from the Washington Post:

Since Haiti's quake, almost $6 billion in official aid has been disbursed in a country with a population of just under 10 million. Large nongovernmental organizations and private contractors, mostly in the United States or Europe, have been the initial recipients of most of these funds. But there are few publicly available records of what they have done with the money, and almost four years after the quake there is little to show on the ground: Even the Haitian capital still lacks decent roads, running water and reliable electricity, and an estimated 200,000 to 400,000 Haitians still live in tents.

I guess what they are trying to say is '$6 billion in official aid' went through Haiti and out the back door!

If they are saying don't help the Philippines that way. what does that tell you?

All I'm gonna say is: whoever was in charge to disburse that aid money in Haiti, did a horrible job, and should be held

This is appalling if you guys don't see the difference.

Haiti had 200,000 plus earthquake related death as opposed to 2,000 related disastrous death in the Philippines.

Besides, China is closer to them, they have the money and more political clout with the Philippines.

Why should the Westerners help

We must learn from all the mistakes that were made in Haiti.

Large nongovernmental organizations and private contractors should be hold accountable if the disbursement of all donations are not used as intended.

Also, all records of what they have done with the money should be available to the public.
