Haiti Radio Kiskeya devastated by fire, all is lost, Liliane Pierre Paul said

Radio Kiskeya, a well known Haitian radio station in Port-au-Prince, was devastated by a fire Friday night, December 21, Haitian journalist Liliane Pierre Paul, co-owner of the radio station said all is lost.

Radio Kiskeya was set ablaze after a fire broke out in a neighboring house. despite all efforts fo control the fire, it spread to the radio station. By the time the fire trucks arrived it was too late.

"We fought for two hours trying to save Radio Kiskeya. In vain. The fire destroyed everything and despite our calls, the firefighters arrived on the scene only after the damage. Everything is lost, " Liliane Pierre Paul told Haitian daily newspaper Le Nouvelliste.

According to news reports, Both Liliane Pierre Paul and Marvel Dandin, General Manager of the station, could not stop crying as they sit by watching the dream radio station in a pile of ashes. It is sad to hear this because in Haiti there are no insurance companies to cover your lost. Once you lose something, you tend to lose it for good.

Our hearts go out to the owners and staff of Radio Kiskeya, a great source for Haiti news that we've have used over the years.
