Haiti Elections Update -- Already in the streets of Haiti, campaining has started on the Candidates side BUT on the CEP side it is a different story... Already, Posters of the candidates for Senators and Deputes are glued EVERYWHERE, on lamp posts (poto limye), private walls, school walls, on public squares; however, the Electoral Council (CEP) made no official statement about it...

Basically, one Haitian journalist reported, the CEP should have made it clear that the electoral campaign season has officially opened but no one in the media received any official note from the council...

By the behavior of many candidates, one can already tell that the elections has kicked off. One radio station reported late Wednesday afternoon that it has not received any officiall note from the CEP when it is in fast the institution who is supposed to make if official launch according to the Electoral sdecree law.
