President Michel Martelly leaked the information about Carnaval in Gonaives back in early november during a visit to the city.

In a press conference earlier this month, Haiti Minister of culture said the Haiti carnaval 2014 will focus primarily on History, mainly the history of Gonaives, the city of Independence.
