Do You Consider Yourself Successful?

Do You Consider Yourself Successful?

Article by Woodring Saint Preux

Before you read this article, it is very important that you answer the following questions:

  1. Do you consider yourself successful?
  2. Do you know what you want in life?
  3. Are you willing to do what it takes to get it?

Right now, I am not really interested in the answer to question #1; however, if you answered 'YES' to questions 2 and 3, then one thing is for sure...

If you are not successful yet,
you are on your way.

Success can be defined in many different ways. Some of the definitions however make more sense than others.

So, I guess before you answer 'Question #1', before you make it your final answer, perhaps you should think about something for a minute.

Someone once told me that God, when he's granting you your wishes, only gives you what you pray for.

  • If you are a farmer praying for the rain to fall on your crop, that's how God will bless you but you have to believe
  • If you're praying for your chicken to lay one egg everyday, that's how God will bless you but you have to believe
  • If you're praying for a brand new Lexus to be parked in front of your mansion, that's how God will bless you but you have to believe

In other words, whatever you pray for, that's exactly what you're expecting. Unless you receive it, you won't even know that God is blessing you. But first and foremost, you have to believe that you deserve it and you have to believe that you will get it.

How successful you are depends on how broad or how narrow your dreams and goals are.

Do you want to reach for the ceiling? or...
Do you want to reach for the heavens?...

It's all up to you..
Yes...
It's entirely up to you...

No matter how successful you get, never compare yourself to another successful person.

I really hate it when people tell me 'at least I am better off than so and so...' or... 'some people don't have what I have...'

Are you kidding me?

You can't compare yourself to other people when it comes to success, it doesn't work that way.

I believe it was Les Brown who said that...

Success is measured by
what you have done compared to
what you COULD have done.

  • If you COULD have received an 'A' in that test, than a 'B' is unacceptable!
  • If you COULD have been a manager, then being a supervisor is unacceptable!

While a 'B' is considered successful by everybody else's standard, but to you, a 'B' is mediocre because you COULD have gotten an 'A'.

While being a supervisor is looked upon as being successful in the company, to you, it is mediocre because you COULD have been a manager.

Let me ask you again

  1. Do you consider yourself successful?
  2. Do you know what you want in life?
  3. Are you willing to do what it takes to get it?

Success has its own smell and its own taste.

If you want to be successful, then you have to be able to smell it and when you get your hands on it you have got to taste it because nothing in life tastes better than success

Now go... Don't nobody stop you!
