I walk into my friend's restaurant to say hello when he suddenly stoped me in my tracks and he said: Pa pale ave m, mwen chef ankò, Lame a retounen! (don't talk to me, I am in power once again, the Army has returned)

The man stood Au Garde-à-vous and insisted that I salute him before he talks to me.

Being the son of a retired premier-lieutenant, 34 years of service, from the old disbanded Haitian army, I had to oblige.

More Haitians are happy that the Haitian army has returned than those who are not. All the talks about the fact that the return of the Haitian army is a bad idea, that's just politics.

Talk to most older generation Haitians and they will tell you Haiti was a safer place back in the days when Haiti had an army.
