The majestic ruins of the Palace of Sans Souci was the royal residence of Haitian King Henri I (Henri Christophe). Palais Sans Souci is located in the Milot, Haiti, 5 kilometers northeast of Citadelle Laferriere.
Palais Sans Soucis in Northern Haiti was one of nine palaces built by King Henry I and the most magestic.
Sans Souci palace, build from 1810 to 1813, was acknowledged by many to be the Caribbean equivalent of the Palace of Versailles in France.
Sans Souci palace was destroyed after a severe earthquake hit Nothern Haiti back in 1842. The palace was destroyed and the city of Cap-Haitien was devastated.
