Does it really matter whose fault it is?

What's the use of being free
if we have to live like this?

As the leaders of Black freedom,
we are not setting good examples

Residents dry out their clothes and other belongings in Gonaives, Haiti, Monday, Sept. 20, 2004. Receding floodwaters raged through neighborhoods of Haiti's third largest city, dragging people from their homes and forcing survivors to spend the night in trees, atop cars and on rooftops following Tropical Storm Jeanne.

Hundreds of thousands died so we could inherit this piece of land and mother nature is sweeping it away.

Perhaps it's because we don't deserve it!

Perhaps it's because we don't give a damn about it.

Now it's going back under the sea where it came from.

But you don't care right?

It's not like you live there.

Chances are, you will never go back there so why should you care?

You can hide all you want but you can never hide who you are.

It's a fact, you are tied to this piece of land and there is nothing you can do to change that.

This is reality...

and the whole world can see it now with the internet and all.

The whole world can see that we failed as a nation.

The whole world but us.

Oh No...

not us...

We think Haiti is a great country...

It's just the leaders that are screwed up.

NOPE! we are all screwed up and "Screwed" is not the word I really want to use right now!

Admit it.

Who do you think is going to fix this for you?

The Americans?

The French?

They didn't set you free...

You set you free...

They won't help you prosper...

You help you prosper

No one just removed the shackles and said "there..

there...

you're free...

go with God...".

People actually died for this!

Be proud if you want...

but they didn't die for pride.

They died because they knew what it felt like to be whooped 24/7 and to be told what to do.

Since you never tasted the whip before, you don't think it's important to preserve what our ancestors died for

The world changed...

The whip is different.

It's invisible

Do you know what I am worried about?

Your kids...

They need a guarantee that the motherland will be here.

Your kids...

They need a guarantee that they will have a place to go to when someone says "GO HOME!"

If you are not living in Haiti, you are not home...

you see?

If you are not home, if doesn't matter how big a castle you think you have...

you're no king...

you're no queen...

and your castle is no castle at all

So...

Whose fault is it?

Does it really matter?

Guess what?

It's my fault...

It's your fault...

It's our fault...

Fine...

Who cares?

"The future of Haiti is in the hands of Haitians"; They are broadcasting it to you every day...

Live!...

They are giving you the signal and you are not picking it up.

All Haitians need to report to Bois Caiman Immediately...

This time we're not going there to dance.

At Bois Caiman we found the secret recipe for freedom.

It is there we will find the secret recipe for prosperity.

The Bois Caiman that I am referring to is not the Bois Caiman we all read about in our history books.

It is "The Haitian State of Mind".

Just like a flock of birds, we need to adjust our radar and we need to think as ONE.
