We are leaving in a totally different world than that of or ancestors Toussaint Louverture, Jean Jacques Dessalines, Christophe, Petion and the like.
Wyclef Jean represents the dream of all immigrants here and abroad.

People who left their countries in search of a better life elsewhere.

Indeed Mr. Jean had "made it" beautifully.

Mr.Jean represents the "American Dream" whose ideology is so ever fading here in America...

Mr. Jean also represents the hypocrisy with ethnicity here in America.

"If Wyclef Jean could make, why did not you?...That is the other side of the coin. In any events, Mr. Jean means well. Mr. Jean is becoming quite a politician, and is using all the tricks in the trade to get his platform going...

Mr. Jean is a politician in the making.

The problem is when Mr. Jean is all groomed up to serve his country or try to anyway, will he be the same person that Haiti thinks he is.
Will history repeats itself...Does anyone see a Jean Bertrand Aristide repeat?

I have a problem with anyone who cannot even pronounce the name of Toussaint Louverture right.

Wyclef Jean pronounced it "Tosson Lovertor".

Now, this is not about getting a degree, it is just plan carelessness.

By itself, this is not a big deal, symptomatic of a bigger problem, it speaks volume.

Some people think mistakenly that the international community will not finance a coup against Mr. Jean because he is "one of them" if it comes to that point is deadly wrong.

I understand and applaud that Mr. Jean embraced Islam, I also hope he embraced other cultures and religions too like President Obama did.
Wyclef, if you have not already done so, I strongly suggest you do some reading on Malcom X, Rev. Martin Luther King and the likes...

I think we are doing just fine with vaudou and catholicism.
