The Audacity Of A Dream, From Martin Luther King To Obama
Obama's Inauguration, What Does It Mean To You?
As the the people of the United States honor the memory of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., We can't help but realize that in less than 24 hours, on Tuesday, January 20 2009, Barack Obama will become the first black president of the United States of America.
As a Native of Haiti living in the United States, I also wanted to bring to light a quote from my Haitian Ancestor Toussaint Louverture who said:
"By overthrowing me you have killed only the trunk of the tree of liberty of the black people, it will grow back by the roots cause they are deep and numerous."
From Toussaint Louverture, to Martin Luther King Jr., To Barack Obama...
Amazing isn't it?
