Pope Benedict XVI Says He Will Resign

For the first time in six centuries the Pope wants to resign as the leader of the world's one billion Roman Catholics.

Pope Benedict XVI stunned the Roman Catholic world on Monday by saying that he would resign on Feb. 28 after less than eight years in office, the first pope to do so in six centuries.

Benedict, 85, was elected in 2005 after the death of Pope John Paul II.

Good Riddance! Watch the current HBO Documentary "Mea Maxima Culpa: Silence in the House of God" that details this pope's complicity, before and after he became pope, of suppressing and condoning pedophilia.

There has been tacit suppression since the 4th century when Rome officially condoned Christianity.
