Michigan Bridge In Chicago Renamed Dusable Bridge
COINCIDENCE??? While St. Marc Haiti is now ground zero for the cholera epidemic, A famous Haitian from St. Marc, Jean Baptiste DuSable, just had a bridge named after him in Chicago Illinois.
Earlier this month, on October 15, 2010, The Michigan Avenue Bridge in Chicago was renamed "DuSable Bridge" in honor of Jean Baptiste Pointe DuSable, Chicago's first permanent resident, and Chicago's first official father.
Jean Baptiste DuSable was born in St Marc Haiti. He established a trading post which eventually became the great city of Chicago Illinois.
