IDT Telecom To Donate $10, 000 To The Red Cross For Haiti Earthquake Relief

The IDT Promise Kept...

Back in January, immediately after the earthquake in Haiti, IDT Telecom promised to donate 100% of net proceeds on all calls to Haiti made with their popular Boss Revolution prepaid calling service, through February 28th, to the American Red Cross' Haitian relief effort.

IDT also asked some of their calling card customers to donate $1 of their account balances for Haiti earthquake relief.

August 31st, 2010, IDT will live up to their promise. A check for $10,000 will be handed out to the Red Cross, a gift they say that will assist the Red Cross in providing shelter, food and water to our brothers and sister in Haiti.

On Tuesday, we will have an official press release about the event, and hopefully some pictures to share with you.

In the aftermath of the Haiti Earthquake, IDT worked hand in hand with Access Haiti to set up calling stations in hotels and other central sites in Haiti to allow Haitians to use the IDT VoiceLine service to reach family and friends around the world to assure them of their safety.

They donated 4,000 Boss and Calypso two-dollar prepaid calling cards to Haitian community organizations in New York and Florida.

Also, during this crisis period, IDT even lowered their rates to Haiti down to just two cents a minute for all calls to mobile and landline phones in Haiti on their PennyTalk® prepaid international calling card.
