Haiti Kanaval 2009 is Over, See you Next Year

Hello, My friend

Carnaval Haiti Mardis Gras

Kanaval season is official over in Haiti but you can still watch all the videos on
http://www.belkanaval.com

I did not go to Kanaval in Haiti but I am tired like everybody else who was there

  • I was busy looking for videos for you,
  • I was trying to stay in touch and keep you informed
  • Constant web site updates
  • Staying up late watching Kanaval
  • And I was chatting live Champ de Mars

This year, the Haitian media did a superb job bringing you Kanaval live from Haiti.

Our sponsor TropikTV, not only did they bring you Haiti's Kanaval 'en Direk', they they also had a party on the set.

It was interesting seeing Elizabeth Guerin, Philippe Rene, and Nickymix in full Carnival disguise on live television, helping you to enjoy yourself.

Some of you were able to watch it live on Television, and online, thanks to the efforts and the sponsors of www.TropikTV.tv

Elizabeth and Philippe made us all laugh all night even when there were difficulties at times bring the live feed from Champs de Mars.

I also have to send a special shot out to the staff of www.sakapfet.com who also covered the kanaval in Haiti.

Besides the fact that they are close friends of mine, they did a superb job as always.

On day 2 of Kanaval in Haiti, Djakout mizik's float broke down, putting a halt to the festivities for most of the evening.

It was amazing to see how Sakapfet's host Mia Lopez and her co-host managed to keep their audience focused and connected to the spirit of kanaval even though Champs de Mars was at a stand still.

As for myself...

Let me tell you I am am tired!

but there is no rest for me, not yet!

Time to turn the page, there are new Haitian movies coming out and I have some new projects I am working on that you will find very interesting

I will be sure to let you know all about them in the weeks to come but for now...

We will continue to update www.BelKanaval.com throughout the year although you will no longer be receiving any kanaval updates via email until next year.

We are also extending our Photo contest until the 2nd week of March, we are waiting for you pictures, send us your Kanaval photos send to "Kanaval2009 at Belkanaval.com" and remember, the person who sends the most pictures will receive 2,200 Gourdes on the VOILA cell phone in Haiti.

This was a personal contest and that I was running myself, I have just been informat that "VOILA" our sponsor will back it up. that's right, the $2,200 Gourdes being added to your Voila card will come directly from VOILA.

Speaking of Voila...
