I would like to take this moment to wish you Happy Holidays but what good is my wish if there is no message attached to it.

I have a special Message for you this Holiday Season.

I hope you think about it when you come up with your New Year resolution.

SPECIAL HOLIDAY MESSAGE

There are only
two rules in the game of life:

Rule #1:
Know what you want

Rule #2:
Do what you have to do

If you know what you want BUT you have no idea what to do, the secret lies in a book...

Everything you want to know is in a book!

If you know your ABCs...
You better start reading!

Give your brain a present this year, Brain Food!
Read a good Motivational Book!
It could change your life!

Every time I listen to Haitian Motivational Speaker Rene Godefroy, there is one phrase that always comes out of his mouth:

"When people ask me 'how did you now that?'
'I read the book' I always says...
It's in a book and I read it"

In our Haitian Community, Everybody seems to know that they want but most of us refuse to do what we have to do.

That's why most of us don't make it in life...
That's why most of us live an oppressed life...

We leave everything in Gods Hands and we do absolutely nothing to help God help us fulfill our dreams.

There is another great man I've had the privilege to meet in my path. Mr. Adeniran Ashiru, my brother from Rhodes Island.

This man thought me the difference between a mentor and a friend.

If you want to learn how to swim, a friend will most likely give you every excuse not to jump in the water especially if your friend is afraid of the water. But a mentor will push you in the water and force you to swim.

Thank you, Sir, for pushing me in...

Most of the time, you will avoid the mentor and stick with your friends. Perhaps all you really need is someone to agree with you that "it's best not to try" but that's not the path that leads to success.

Mr. Ashiru also told me...

"When you pray to God, he will not come down from heaven to help you.

Instead, he will send a Good Samaritan your way.

What we humans do most of the time is push the good Samaritan away and continue praying and waiting for God himself to come down to help us."

That's what faith is...

Faith is being able to see the doors that open in front of you after you communicate with God or who ever it is you pray to.

You will not see the doors if you do not believe in yourself.

You will not walk through the doors if you surround yourself with friends who constantly have their emergency brakes on.

Grean means GO, Red means STOP!

Most of the time The only RED light stopping you from reaching your goals are the friends you choose.

This Holiday season, I have a special message for you.

1. Read.
2. Everything you need to know is in a book.
3. Find yourself a mentor.
4. If you want to fly with the eagles, loose your 'CHICKEN' friends.
5. You have to believe in something. Believe in yourself.
6. You must have faith. Faith will make you see things you've never seen before.

If you do just that, doors will open that you didn't even know were there.

How do I know?

I read it in a book!
