A 'Little Haiti' District Is Coming to New York City

Very soon, Haitians in New York City will have their own "Little Haiti," coming to the Flatbush section of Brooklyn in the form of the "Little Haiti Business and Cultural District."

Brooklyn is home to the largest community of Haitian-Americans in the United States outside of Florida, so why not have a Little Haiti in Brooklyn?

This is the initiative of Brooklyn Assemblywoman Rodneyse Bichotte, the first Haitian-American to be elected to the State Legislature from New York City.

The proposed Little Haiti Business and Cultural District (a legislation currently awaiting to pass the City Council) will be defined as the area roughly between Avenue H and Parkside Avenue, East 16th Street and Brooklyn Avenue. More info & map(here]).
