Ebola in Africa - Even Burring the Dead can spread Ebola

Ebola in Africa - Even Burring the Dead can spread Ebola

If Haitians were to go to Africa to help with the Ebola crisis what exactly would the be doing? Here is something you should know...

Ebola is spread through close physical contact with infected people. This is a problem for many in the West African countries currently affected by the outbreak, as practices around religion and death involve close physical contact.

Hugging is a normal part of religious worship in Liberia and Sierra Leone, and across the region the ritual preparation of bodies for burial involves washing, touching and kissing...

If a person has died from Ebola, their body will have a very high viral load. Bleeding is a usual symptom of the disease prior to death. Those who handle the body and come into contact with the blood or other body fluids are at greatest risk of catching the disease.

How Areal Reforestation Works

How Areal Reforestation Works

Aerial Reforestation, or seed bombing, is a way of replanting trees by dropping "seed bombs", filled with soil and living seeds into barren or deforested areas. The seed bombs are shaped like cones, which penetrate the earth at the same depth as if they were being planted naturally.

One thing that plays a large role in aerial reforestation's relative success is the design of the seed packages... If it's done right, though, reforestation by air can have a success rate as high as 70 percent
