Haiti - Monseigneur Guire Poulard died at the age of 76
The Archbishop Emeritus of Port-au-Prince, his Excellency Monseigneur Guire Poulard died Sunday evening, December 9, 2018, at hospital Saint Francois de Sales in Port-au-Prince where he was receiving care for pancreatic cancer.

According to news reports, Monseigneur Guire Poulard he had been suffering from this cancer for about 2 years.
Haitian Roman Catholic archbishop Guire Poulard, born in Petit Goave on January 6 1942, was ordained to the priesthood in 1972.
Guire Poulard served as bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Jacmel from 1988 to 2009. He then served as bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Les Cayes from 2009 to 2011. Poulard served as archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Port-au-Prince from 2011 to 2017 after succeeding Joseph Serge Miot, who died due to 2010 Haiti earthquake.
Monseigneur Guire Poulard resigned from his ministry on October 7, 2017, having reached the age limit set by the Catholic Church.
