Dessalines and Petion serving our nonsense

We are always processed by "Papa Dessalines" when we need to plunge Haiti into the biggest mess. The back of the leader of the Haitian Revolution is pretty wide to legitimize our barbarities: KOUPE TET BOULE KAY.

Haiti - Jean-Jacques Dessalines and Alexandre Petion

Dessalines was assassinated, we leaned that in school. Alexandre Pétion killed him, we learned that too.

The breath of life of Papa Dessalines was extinguished in bloodshed. Do we want to inherit a bloody murderer, a cutter of heads or an arsonist?

If this is the case, Dessalines and Petion may, in no way, be models of political actors today because the work of these two men go beyond their dispute?

These two enemies, did they NOT get together to overcome slavery?

What do we want to overcome today?

What will bring us together?

It is still not known.

But the children of Dessalines depart from time to time to meet the children of Petion. Geographically, it is a problem. Because the journey is on foot. Whether we pass by Bourdon or Delmas, one goes uphill, calories are burned. This can not be just for the hell of it.

The children of Dessalines, what do they have to say to those of Petion who are probably are not even interested to listen to them?

In matters of courtesy, The children Petion could also go down to those of Dessalines.

This scheme allows us to understand why there can not be a dialogue between the different actors. This scheme also allows us to understand why anti-government protests are thwarted by pro-government demonstrations.

The Children Dessalines and Petion are in the streets. Orphans, they play their dangerous game.

They may just kill each other if the (country) neighbors do not come to their rescue

WOW... Interesting reading dont you think?

What you just read is a text, Dessalines et Pétion au service de nos bêtises, translated from French from Haiti radio signal FM web site. The translation has been edited slightly by BelPolitik.com staff to allow for better understanding

@Pratrick Princivil, God is above all. There is no question about that. But we, as a nation need to honor our ancestors.

Until we do, we will not move forward.

What's wrong with saying papa Dessalines?

Lest's not misunderstand The appellation "papa" does not mean Dessalines is regarded as a divinity.

Since the dawn of humanity, our ancestors have been aware of the existence of a unique God the Creator.

My second point is that by the time we have occupied the east side of the island there was not a Dominican Republic yet. So let's not say Haiti occupied the Dominican Republic.

Dessalines was a despot in the mold of François and Jean-Claude Duvalier.

To this day, Haiti is paying a price for Dessalines' detrimental policies.

1. Declared himself Emperor.

"KOUPE TET BOULE KAY" is not the way to go because when houses are burned down, it's a step backwards.

Dessalines still deserves credit for his bravery and contribution to the independence.

We just have to remember that nobody is perfect.

Therefore...the new slogan should be "koupe tet sove
