Petion did not kill Dessalines.
Gabar killed Dessalines on his way to the South of Haiti.

@Pratrick Princivil, God is above all. There is no question about that. But we, as a nation need to honor our ancestors.
Until we do, we will not move forward.
What's wrong with saying papa Dessalines?
Lest's not misunderstand The appellation "papa" does not mean Dessalines is regarded as a divinity.
