68 Haitian Churches In Philadelphia!

Would you believe this, there are approximately 68 Haitian Churches in Philly. I was bwowsing through doing an update and I found out that there is a taking place in Philadelphia on December 16th.

To show the sheer size of the Haitian community in Philadelphia here is what was posted in the event details:

There is a huge Haitian Christian community in Philadelphia, as evidenced by the number of Haitian churches in Philadelphia-approximately 68. Gospel music plays a vital role in the lives of Philadelphia Haitians because of their religious beliefs.

If you are from Philly tell us more about the Haitian community there. I keep thining that New York, New Jersey, Massachussetts, and Miami have the largest Haitian communities outside of Haiti, I would love to know more about the Haitian community in Philly.

I can tell you that there are close to 50,000 Haitians/Haitian-Americans living in the Philadelphia/Greater Delaware Valley area (I am one of them).

Large groups of us who live in the city live in West Philadelphia & Mount Airy. Despite the large numbers, there is much division.

Unlike other cities like NY, Miami, and Boston.
