Did you know that the inspector general of the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) was Haitian?

Andre Birotte Jr, Haitian-American Inspector General of the LAPD

Andre Birotte Jr. is the son of Haitian Immigrants and has been nominated by President Barack Obama, today, December 24, 2009, to be the next U.S. attorney for the Central District of California.

Son of Haitian Immigrants?

That's what the Los Angeles Times says but... sa vle di manman-l ak papa-l se Haitien!

Andre Birotte Jr., a former federal prosecutor, is currently the inspector general of the LAPD, The Los Angeles Police Department.

If confirmed by the U.S. Senate, Haitian-American Andre Birotte Jr. could become the first black U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California.

Keep in mind that Central District of California is most populous district in the United States and, should Andre Birotte Jr. become the next U.S. attorney, he will be responsible for all federal litigation in Los Angeles county, Orange county, Riverside county, San Luis Obispo county, Santa Barbara, and Ventura county.

Wow!

I don't know why this feels so good but it does!

Haitians are doing big things, not young Haitian kids don't have to go outside of the Haitian community to find great role models.

They are here...

They are there...

They are everywhere!

YES WE CAN!

It is great to have Haitian sons and daughters making such advancements in foreign lands.

It also makes us proud and happy.

This is great news to me as we have been so stigmatized in the past with such names as "Aids carriers" and "banana boat people" and so on and so forth.

I am a product of the 80's era and I had to go through all that, therefore my heart feels for my people when I see such great efforts being put forward by Haitians to change the community, and the United States as a whole.

We are intergrating very well and proving that the state the Haitian economy with it's high lows is only making Haitian parents and others in the American community realize that the key to progress is education, than togetherness for the betterment of all people as Mr. Andre Birotte Jr. is doing.

Hey Max,
I am totaly agrre with you, how about home we have no one beside a bunch of drunk who only believe in drinking alchool and fill up their pocket with the people money and left them to die starving.

A bunch of deputy, even some of the senate who can hardly read are making the law and to decide for us, later sell themselves for a little bit for their pocket, again left the people who vote them down.
I believe if all those big one from the diaspora decide to raise their voice for us, they can help the making of dream come true in that
