Relating to Would You Live In An Old Wooden House In Haiti, I'm agree with you wooden house is safer against earthquake, but not against fire and hurricane.

Every year tens of hurricanes reach Haiti, in 200 years and plus only one deadly earthquake in 2010. So if you think people should only built wooden house we will have more dead people with fire and hurricane.

We only have to make the concrete houses better like in Chile.
