Haiti: Lavalas Threatens Violence for the Return of Aristide

Hundreds of supporters of the Lavalas party took to the streets last week threatening to boycott the second round of presidential elections, kill Rene Preval, and destroy everything if Aristide is not returned to Haiti before March 20, 2011, the date of the run-off elections.
Lavalas threatened to attack the electoral process and block the elections (for details see: Haiti Libre reporting).
This is not the first time that Lavalas has used violence as a political tool. Since its formation, violence has been a tactic of Lavalas and Jean Bertrand Aristide to intimidate and silence political opponents and all those promoting democracy and the rule of the law in Haiti.
