US in support of reducing the Embargo

I would like to know, are there any "focus groups" within the US Government that makes the Island of Haiti in some small way or another a priority on the legislative agendas.

I live in NYC, as a young Haitian Man, I plan to write to Mayor Bloomberg, The governor, etc. The more bodies of government I can reach the better this Crypling Embargo can be lifted resulting in much needed help for our Brothers and Sisters who desperately need the help.
