Why is Haiti getting fruits and vegetables from DR?

Well, perhaps Haiti do not produce as much fruits and vegetables as you think; perhaps not enough to feed 10.32 million people (Haiti's actual population).

But since DR is not forcing Haiti to buy their fruits and vegetables, maybe Haitians should import their grocery from other countries at exorbitant markup prices, import duties & taxes.

The hassle free importation process of products and services from DR is something that Haitians should not take for granted.
