Jimmy Jean-Louis must have been on our bus to Dominican Republic, the DR sucks big time!

OMG! I think he must have been on our bus! Sadly, when I was traveling in the Dominican Republic with Boukman Eksperyans, a popular Haitian roots-racine band, I had a very similar experience and I think we were only saved from more abuse because I was on the bus, the only non-Haitian.

It took over ten hours for us to get from the border to SD and it took us over 4 hours to cross the border ...

the checkpoints are a nightmare and yes, the DR sucks big time! This was about four years ago ...
