And as someone already said, the main reason is ignorance.
Many Haitians refuse to give you credits because they fear doing so is belittling themselves.
Moreover, there are those who give the credit, but take it right away...in the same sentence.
It goes like this "tifi sa pa mal non, men si li te gen bouda, or cheve, or tete li tap pi bon."
That's what we will get in a country, a community where people are blinded with ignorance, but yet are so comfortable with it.
