Woy! Mona Guerin Mouri!!!
What better way to praise her, even in death, then to say... "Woy! Mona Guerin Mouri !!!" -- The title borrowed from the article released by Le Nouvelliste.
Mona Guerin is the mother of Anchorwoman and comedian Elizabeth Guerin, grandmother of NBC Miami news anchorwoman Christalie Parisot, both of whom have followed her foot steps in Media communication to say the least.
From "Woy! Les Voila!!!" all the way to The National Broadcasting Company (NBC), Mona is proof that, if you tell your 8 year old son or daughter "Yes You Can," and if you set a path for him or her to follow, you can expect great things to happen.
I never had the chance to meet this great woman but I've been enjoying the fruits of her labor since I was a little child growing up in Hinche Haiti.
Here is what Le Nouvelliste said about Mona upon her death...
[Mona Guerin died] as a result of pneumonia.... "She died at 77 years," her daughter Christina told the newspaper.
Author of the successful soap opera ""Woy! Les Voila!!!"" (950 episodes), numerous plays, newspaper articles and the famous column "Mi-figue mi-raisin" Within Le Nouvelliste, Mona Guerin died peacefully while his family believed she was out of danger.
Mona Guerin was a jack of all trades...
She started her first career as a teacher [and she accomplished so much...]
- 5 plays written between 1966 and 1976),
- radio (programming and soap operas on radio Nouveau Monde, Radio Metropole, Magik Stereo (now Magic 9) and Radio Soleil),
- television (150 sketches for the show Gala de galerie that aired on Tele Haiti),
- in newspapers and in his books (a collection of poetry and two collections of his stories),
She was very successful... During the last few years, Ms. Guerin had not been seen in public...
For those of you who know Mona Guerin personally, I would love to hear what you have to say about her and how you remember her.
My condolences to the Guerin Family, Especially to Elizabeth, a young lady I've learn to respect and appreciate over the past few years... Kenbe la sister... Kondolyeans...

chapo ba po ou tou. I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS GROING UP IN HAITI, I USED TO LISTEN TO HER A LOT AND, I COULD NOT WAIT FOR THE TIME WHEN ON RADIO I WUOLD HERE HER SHOW THAT WERE SO
I do not reduce her to a simple heaven or whatever you think, may be you do not understand what I said. For me heaven is the higher place a person's who accomplished a lot of things on this planet earth. But I do not know what God will decide in that case, because I am not a judge, but a simple man.I do believe this life is a time for men to prepare to meet God.It's hope to anybody to decide or choose to meet their God.I do know God has an eternal plan of salvation and redemption for his children based on faith and repentance. This plan is the true one, who talk about our life in the pre existence; our life on earth and life after death.
Serge, I think it is impolite for you to reduce a person's earthly acomplishments down to a simple heaven and hell issue.
Being a good christian also requires humility (sagesse)
There is a time and place for that and this is not it.
I support the topic she was a great person, but there is certain things, I do not know if she was accomplished it. Because for me, life has three steps every one must to know before you die;first who you are?
why are you here on this planet?
And where are you going after you die?
THIS IS A BIG LOSS FOR HAIIAN CULTURE REST IN PEACE HAITAIN QUENN AND MY CONDELEANCE TO THE FAMILY SPECIALY
Elizabeth, sorry, please except my sincere condolences about your mother.
I can't pretend that I know her. But I can sympathize with you and your daughter on such a heavy loss. (We have met at one of Donald Trumps special events.)
Sincerely,
Bernadette
