Coincidences : Konpe Filo and Liliane Pierre-Paul born the same year, they died the same day

In an uncanny coincidence, the Haitian media mourns the loss of two legendary figures who were born in the same year, 1953, but met their final moments on the same date, July 31st, albeit years apart.

Anthony Pascal, fondly known as Konpè Filo, was born on March 11, 1953, and his journey in the field of journalism was nothing short of iconic.

Sadly, on July 31, 2020, the world bid farewell to Konpè Filo, this remarkable soul, as he took his last breath in Mirebalais, Haiti.

His unique storytelling and captivating voice endeared him to audiences, making him a beloved figure in the hearts of many.

Farewell to a Journalism Icon: Remembering Liliane Pierre-Paul of Radio Kiskeya

On Monday 31 July, 2023, Radio Kiskeya announced the death of their famous journalist Liliane Pierre-Paul over the air. The Haitian media was mourning the death of one their best.

At the age of 70, Liliane Pierre-Paul suffered a heart attack at her home in the hills above Port-au-Prince. She was preparing to head to her beloved Radio Kiskeya to host her popular 4pm news program "Journal 4h".

Liliane's son, Harold Isaac, confirmed the tragic news. Later, Radio Kiskeya announced her passing on air, marking the end of an era in Haitian journalism and leaving behind a legacy that will forever be remembered.

Radio Kiskeya, a well known Haitian radio station in Port-au-Prince, was devastated by a fire Friday night, December 21, Haitian journalist Liliane Pierre Paul, co-owner of the radio station said all is lost.

Radio Kiskeya was set ablaze after a fire broke out in a neighboring house. despite all efforts fo control the fire, it spread to the radio station. By the time the fire trucks arrived it was too late.

"We fought for two hours trying to save Radio Kiskeya. In vain. The fire destroyed everything and despite our calls, the firefighters arrived on the scene only after the damage. Everything is lost, " Liliane Pierre Paul told Haitian daily newspaper Le Nouvelliste.

Haiti Mayor Gabriel Fortune says: RADIO Kiskeya is a Propagandist Radio Station

Live in her afternoon news program on Radio Kiskeya, Liliane Pierre Paul reported that Les Cayes city mayor Gabriel Fortune accused her radio station of being a propagandist radio station that was tied under the table of the Privert Interim Government.

Liliane Pierre Paul did even try to deny the accusation. Instead she said there are many people who have been making these accusations since president Jocelerme Privert was in power for their own personal reasons. That these people are satellites in the constellation of TET KALE. They multiplied these types of declarations hopping they would submerge Radio Kiskeya and some people within the radio station.

Haitian Journalists attacked by protesters during anti-Jovenel Manifestation

Various Haitian journalists were attacked by street protestors during an opposition manifestation Tuesday, various radio stations reported in Capital Port-au-Prince.

A radio Signal FM journalist was attacked, his driver was pulled out of the car and roughed up, the radio station reported, because protestors said his radio station is pro-government.
