Naomi Osaka has to chose: Japanese Nationality or American Nationality?

Haitian-Japanese world number one Tennis player Naomi Osaka has to deal with very important decision come October when she turns 22 years old. Will she keep her Japanese nationality or will she keep her American nationality?

The Japanese Nationality Law in 1985 requires any Japanese citizen who holds multiple citizenship to make a "declaration of choice" between the ages of 20 and 22.

So, Naomi Osaka, who will be 22 years old on October 16th, must make an important choice. She has to renounce either her Japanese nationality or her American citizenship.

There is no mention of her Haitian Nationality since daddy is Haitian, but I guess that's another topic all by itself.

Keep in mind Naomi Osaka represents Japan on the world stage and she is presently the world number one Tennis player. Which nationality will she chose?
