A controversial new bill is making waves in the Dominican Republic, and it's aimed directly at Haitian university and trade school students.

This bill, if passed, would require all Haitian students, whether studying on Dominican government scholarships, international aid, or even with their own money, to sign a formal document before graduating, agreeing to return to Haiti and work there for at least four years.

Yes, you read that right. Even if you pay for your education out of your own pocket, the Dominican government wants to make it law that you must leave once you get your diploma.

"It's easier for a Haitian to find the shoes that Jean-Jacques Dessalines wore during Haiti's independence war than to get legal documents in the Dominican Republic today." Haitian comedian Matias Dandor stabbed in the Dominican Republic

Haitian commedian Matias Dandor was stabbed recently in the Dominican Republic. He is in the hospital.

The news was announced by Rigolo, host od "Pi Lwen Ke Zye" on haiti television Caraibes.

We don't know the full condition of the comedian however one news source in Haiti reported that his wounds are so deep that he needs to be operated on. Is life depends on it, the new source said.

Depute Gary Bodeau and Senateur Joseph Lambert meet Dominican President Danilo Medina

Senator Joseph Lambert and Depute Gary Bodeau met with Dominican Republic president Danilo Medina to discuss, among other things, the potential increase of the price of Dominican Visa in Haiti.

After the meeting, Depute Gary Bodeau told the media they addressed common interest to both countries with the Dominican President, issues such as migration, trade and the cost of visas Haitians must pay to enter the Dominican Republic.

"Regarding the cost of entry visas to the Dominican Republic which could increase according to our information," Depute Gary Bodeau said, "the Dominican President has promised to investigate and take appropriate actions."

A Dominican police investigation reveal the assault the criminals used to confront the police is a Haitian Police issued assault rifle.

Haitian sentenced to 30 years for murder in Dominican Republic after extradition from Haiti

A Haitian man who ran from the Dominican Republic (DR) to come hide in Haiti after committing a crime was extradited back to DR where he received a 30 year sentence for murder.

Guerno Touloute was sentenced on June 15 to spend the next 30 years in a Dominican prison for the murder of Carmen Amberis Diaz.

Touloute murdered Ms. Diaz outside her home then carrying her lifeless body into her bathroom and then proceeded to stealing a computer, a cellphone, some cash and a safe before he fled the scene.

Packed like sardines, 4 passengers in the trunk of what looks like a Toyota Camry, 16 Haitians were caught entering the Dominican Republic illegally.

Dominican authorities made sure, in front of a camera, these Haitians came out one by one out of the vehicle. 12 Haitian passengers inside the 5-passenver vehicle, including a newborn baby, and 4 more Haitians in the trunk of the car.
